Taylor Swift has copyrighted the phrase “This Sick Beat”.

A quick search of some sort of database for copyright called Justia reveals that Taylor Swift has copyrighted some of the lyrics of her record 1989 so no one can use them on fake merch.

“This sick beat”, “we never go out of style,” “nice to meet you, where you been?” and “could show you incredible things” are all copyrighted so you can’t print them on a shit t-shirt from Lowes and flog it outside her gig for five dollars. Apols.

It’s very smart business to increase the monetary value of her smart lyric writing and that’s a thing that should be applauded.
