Premiering: Pipin’s New Single ‘Can’t Be Friends’, Some Of The Tightest Dream-Pop We’ve Heard In A While

Pipin – a nomadic (she’s lived in 5 states of this silly country) but now Brisbane-landed creative – has created a whole fucking world, with all its different feelings and colours, in this track called Can’t Be Friends which we’re ‘premiering’ today.

It starts all dreamy and spacey, lots of reverb and zero drums, then a dirty lil synth in the first verse, then she just keeps building and building. It’s magic from start to finish. Pipin’s voice has so much personality. These words don’t feel like they could be done justice by any other voice. That’s a very difficult thing to achieve.

There’s an EP on the way as the winter passes, which I’m now heavily invested in hearing.
