Introducing Sydney’s Dylan Rass, who’s about to go on tour and drop a ‘debut release’

It’s going to be a very exciting year for Aussie pop music. I can feel it in me veins and I am shooketh to the core and wigless about it. EPs and singles are being dropped left, right and centre.

Another up-and-coming singer-songwriter from Sydney, eighteen-year-old Dylan Rass, has just returned from a songwriting trip to Sweden where he collaborated with, according to a website plugging one of his upcoming gigs, “some of the world’s most prolific writers and producers for his debut release”.

So far, Dylan has been mostly a cover artist. That’s not to say he’s not any good. He’s very talented.

Covers on his YouTube focus mainly on pop, with Harry StylesSign of the Times, Shawn Mendes and Troye Sivan‘s Youth all given the cover treatment, among others.

But Rass has released one original. It’s called Made for Him and dropped very quietly last December on SoundCloud (see below). It’s received 1000 odd plays so far.

This weekend, Dylan begins his East Coast Australia headline tour alongside Aussie band Drawing North (tour dates below).

Rass has been spotted in various online collaborations with Closure’s Tom Jay Williams and William Singe (see an original here) both up-and-coming Aussie singers.

Informed guessing would dictate that we can expect to see an EP from Dylan this year. Or maybe if you’re lucky, he’ll sing a few originals on his upcoming tour.
