The never-boring Genesis Owusu‘s made what I would suggest is his most ridiculously entertaining single to date in Don’t Need You.
It’s a groovy hip-hop lead situation at times, there’s falsetto, there’s rap, there’s spoken word and there’s excellent melody throughout.
The vocal delivery at times sits somewhere between David Byrne, Andre 3000 and Julian Hamilton from The Presets, but also like none of them individually, and that is a wonderful thing.
This is incredible. We have also been asked to tell you he will be performing “a one-off, virtual House Party with Red Bull on Friday, May 22. Here, he will be performing Don’t Need You live for the first time… from his home to yours.”
